We started with his sleeping-crate ("box"), so now when I tell him to "get in your caja" he knows where to go.

That's really interesting that a dog only understood Spanish. It's probably similar to toddlers who can't talk but understand things you tell them. They just get familiar to the language, and commands. I never realized it would apply to animals.
